If you have small children, or even just one child, then I am sure you have experienced a case of the infamous culprits- lice. Oooooo! Just hearing the word gives me chills. They are creepy, nasty little creatures that are almost impossible to get rid of. It is not like a normal bug problem where you can just call the exterminator out and write a check. No, no, no, you have to treat your poor baby’s head with a strong acidic shampoo, (or dog flea and tick shampoo) then treat the whole family- just in case. Then you must treat the entire house, all of the bedding, all of the furniture, all of the car seats, and all of the clothes.

Boy is it a task, and not to mention, if the infestation has been around for more than a couple days (which you would not know in all actuality) then you are forced to make that embarrassing call to all of your children’s friend’s parents. That call can really bite, and although every child goes through it, there is a certain stigma about the whole situation that makes everyone look at you like you’re the worst mother. People tend to think that your family lives dirty, or does not wash., and your kids get made fun of at school when you have to notify the school nurse.

After all, if you do not want it to return, then you will want to tell the school so that they can make sure it is not in the other children’s hair, thus repeating a vicious cycle of re-infestation. There is no worse feeling though, than watching all of you classmates getting their heads picked through by the nurse, and knowing that they know it is all because of you. If your child was not being picked on before, they will be now.

It is even more terrible when your child’s locks stream all the way down their back, or they have tiny, super tight curls. You thought picking out the nats was hard on straight hair, try getting rid of lice in African American hair. Yea, I said it. Black kids get lice too. I am sure you have heard the myth that African American children cannot get lice, but you are mistaken. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but that is a myth.

It is less common however for multiple reasons; certain grease and other hair products that they tend to use can suffocate the lice, the tiny tight curl of their hair makes it more difficult to attach their eggs to the shaft, and so on and so forth.

Do not be deceived though. Mothers of every child and every race, you must protect your children.

How? I will tell you. There is a product I have just discovered called Fairytales Shampoo. This is a shampoo conjured up just for kids, hence the name Fairytales Shampoo, and it is designed for just this reason.

Fairytales Shampoo is a preventative hair rinse made up of pure rosemary, tea tree, and lavender oils to help repel lice and other insects from the hair. That is right, it repels lice! Finally we have the answer. Fairytales shampoo is healthy for the hair, and it is paraben free and gluten free. So you cannot go wrong. It is good for them and protects them. What more could you ask for.

Fairytales Shampoo has revolutionized one of the most difficult parts of parenthood for parents everywhere. Someday, I am sure there will be a bottle in every household, and Fairytales shampoo will be a household name across the world. With this product, we may one day forget what it is even like to battle lice, because the war will be over.
